From a high school student to an independent researcher in science and technology by Frida Matiyevskaya (BSc in Science and Technology)
Frida Matiyevskaya graduated from the University of Tartu with a bachelor's degree in Science and Technology in 2020. During the past 4 years, she has been working in molecular and cell biology laboratories studying mechanisms that govern cell cycle and DNA damage responses. Apart from her love for science, she is passionate about design and animation.

In Frida's opinion, BSc in Science & Technology is an interdisciplinary programme that gives students a good foundation in sciences, as well as a wide range of practical skills. These skills, combined with the knowledge students gain in the programme, will allow students to become leading researchers in any field of science.

In addition to immersion in high-quality research, the programme allows students to participate in the biggest synthetic biology competition, iGEM, as a part of the Estonia TUIT iGEM team and further develop themselves as researchers.
